According to authorities, the 31-year-old musician passed away outside a hotel in the capital of Argentina after falling from the third floor.
After making an appearance on The X Factor in 2010, where the renowned boy band was created, he became well-known.
It was dubbed “the worst news” by TV host Dermot O’Leary, who hosted the show at the time.
He posted the following on Instagram, along with a picture of O’Leary and Payne standing together on stage: “The worst news. When he was fourteen years old, I recall him showing up for an X Factor audition and blowing us away with his Sinatra singing. He simply enjoyed singing.
He was always cheerful, kind, appreciative, and humble. He also had time for everyone.
After Tom died, he personally helped me a lot. “I will always remember that,” George stated.
Payne was present at the funeral of Tom Parker, star of The Wanted, who passed away in March 2022 at the age of 33 due to an incurable brain tumor.
