PESHAWAR: Special Assistant to KP Chief Minister Mashal Azam Yousafzai was denotified from her position on Saturday at the request of Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, just hours after she appeared on television to explain the situation at D-Chowk, where the supporters of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) were protesting on November 26.
Her dismissal was formally announced by the Chief Minister’s Secretariat.
The former ruling party had severe internal strife after the November 27 demonstration fiasco, which led to the resignation of party leaders like Sahibzada Hamid Raza and Salman Akram Raja.
Aiming to secure the release of party founder Imran Khan, who has been imprisoned for over a year, the demonstration is currently being criticized for choosing to travel to D-Chowk in Islamabad rather than Sangjani.
