KARACHI: Ahead of the forthcoming national general elections, the Sindh government on Thursday declared that all educational establishments would be closed from February 6 to 9.
But from February 5 to February 9, all public and private schools, colleges, and institutions will be closed. This is because February 5 has already been declared a public holiday in observance of Kashmir Day.
According to a statement from the Sindh Education Department, a summary of the three-day holiday has been forwarded to the Chief Minister House, and an official announcement will be released once the synopsis has been approved.
Pakistan, which has over 128 million voters, will have important elections this time around because of the political and economic unrest in the nation.
On February 8, there will be increased security and the deployment of law enforcement to maintain the status of law and order around the nation for the polls.
Ahead of the general elections scheduled for February 8, the Punjab administration also made the decision to keep all of the province’s schools, colleges, and universities closed from February 6 to February 9.
Both public and private educational institutions would be affected by the move, according to the Punjab cabinet.
