With winds over 70 mph, the storm caused tens of thousands of people to lose electricity and caused difficulties for planes landing at certain airports on Saturday.
The French meteorological authorities have called this storm Pierrick. The worst of the effects will be felt in the north of France; however, winds as high as sixty miles per hour may be felt in Wales and along England’s southern coast.
Among the cautions issued by the Met Office are: • A yellow warning for wind, which will be in effect starting at 4 p.m. for the south and western coasts of England and Wales.
- From Monday night at 9 p.m. to Tuesday morning, there is a yellow wind advisory in effect for the southern part of England.
- On Tuesday from 1 a.m. to 6 p.m., southern, central, and eastern Scotland are under a yellow rain warning.
