PESHAWAR: Following the party’s “do-or-die” protest disaster, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), which has been dealing with legal and political issues for months, is now experiencing internal divisions, according to a story published by The News on Thursday.
Although Khan agreed to host a demonstration at Sangjani, the party’s leadership—especially Bushra Bibi, the wife of PTI founder Imran Khan, and Ali Amin Gandapur, the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa—are coming under heavy fire for continuing with the protest at D-Chowk.
Widespread censure resulted from the PTI workers’ choice to press towards D-Chowk, which ultimately exposed them to state intervention.
The former ruling party had first declared a “temporary suspension” in response to the government crackdown, but CM Gandapur later said that the sit-in was still ongoing.
