The legendary British actor, who has starred in both stage and film, most notably as Gandalf in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, broke his wrist and cracked his vertebrae while playing Player Kings in London in June.
He claimed in August that his ribcage had been “saved” by the fact he had been sporting a “fat suit”.
In a recent interview with News, the 85-year-old stated that “everything is physically mended” and that he is “mobile, pain free, and ready to go” about three months after the incident.
He acknowledged, though, that he is still “having to deal with it emotionally”.
“I felt ashamed of myself, I felt I let the audience down and I felt guilty,” Sir Ian stated.
At the time of the incident, the actor was performing as one of Shakespeare’s most well-known characters, Sir John Falstaff, in the contemporary adaptation of Henry IV, parts one and two.
