In light of US media predictions that Donald Trump was poised to win a second term, the campaign of Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris declared she would not speak to supporters on election night.
In his “victory” speech on Tuesday night, the Republican candidate declared, “America has given us an unprecedented mandate, we are going to heal our country.”
However, when the US vice president stated that they still had ballots to cast, Harris’s supporters hoped for a last-minute change of heart.
Democratic campaign co-chair Cedric Richmond told a Howard University watch party, according to the Economic Times: “You won’t hear from the vice president tonight but you will hear from her tomorrow.”
