A football player who is suspected of killing another non-League player during a fight at York Station has made an appearance in court.
After spending a night out in York, James Hitchcock, a player for Barton Town FC from Cottingham, East Yorkshire, suffered a catastrophic injury on December 15. On Wednesday, he passed away in the hospital.
Mckenzie Dicicco, a 22-year-old Middlesbrough resident from Belgravia Gardens, who has played for the football teams of Thornaby, Northallerton, and Pickering, previously appeared at Leeds Crown Court on charges of affray and murder.
In addition, a provisional trial date was set for July and he was remanded in custody until his subsequent hearing on February 5.
