The 25-year-old Toulon player was introduced from the bench during France’s victory over Argentina on Saturday in Mendoza.
The 20-time capped player can be heard saying, “I’ll throw a headbutt to the first Arab I come across,” in a video that was uploaded to his Instagram account.
Copies of the film have been circulated online even though it has since been removed.
Jaminet’s remarks were denounced by the French Rugby Federation (FFR), which also suspended him right away.
It released a statement saying, “Such remarks are completely unacceptable and contrary to the fundamental values of our sport.”
To get more information about the making of these grave remarks and to take the necessary action, an internal inquiry is underway.
“Unwavering commitment to diversity, inclusion, and secularism,” the FFR declared.
Rugby is a game that connects people, and we need to spread these important ideals. It is further said that discriminatory practices of any kind have no place in French rugby.
Amelie Oudea-Castera, the French minister of sports, praised the verdict and advocated for “zero tolerance against racism” in a post on X.
Jaminet expressed regret in a short Instagram story following the announcement of his suspension.
