ISLAMABAD For children over ten, the federal government has decided to require fingerprints and photos on their Child Registration Certificate (CRC), often known as the B-Form.
In an effort to stop identity theft and information misuse, fingerprints and photos will now be required on the B-Form, or “special registration certificate,” for the first time in Pakistani history.
Special registration certificates will begin to be issued on January 15 as part of the phased rollout. According to a spokeswoman for the Ministry of Interior, the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra), working with the Passport Department, would gather biometric information and photos of youngsters between the ages of 10 and 18 in the first phase.
Children must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians, who must also bring their CNICs.
