For their forthcoming three-match series against Pakistan, South Africa has selected a full-strength ODI team.
Due to scheduling problems with the SA20 T20 league, a first-choice team will not be able to play in a subsequent tri-series against Pakistan and New Zealand in February, therefore this series is an important chance for the team to play together before the 2024 Champions Trophy.
Key players Kagiso Rabada, Heinrich Klaasen, David Miller, Keshav Maharaj, and Tabraiz Shamsi, who haven’t played in ODI cricket in almost a year, are among the nine players in the squad who weren’t in the previous ODI series against Ireland.
Recently back from injury, captain Temba Bavuma will captain the team, most likely playing at the top of the order alongside Ryan Rickelton.
