Kissan cards are available to farmers with one to 12.5 acres of land, according to Chaudhary Khalid Mehmood, the director of agriculture, on Tuesday.
He said in a statement that the Kissan card program was introduced by the Punjab government to help farmers by providing them with loans and farming equipment, among other incentives.
According to Mehmood, small farmers with one to 12.5 acres of agricultural land would be given preference for the plan. He also mentioned that farmers would not be eligible for the facility if they were in debt with any bank or financial institution.
According to him, cardholder farmers would have the ability to buy premium seed and fertilizer for up to Rs. 150,000 for a single crop, with the loan amount being reimbursed in six months without any fees.
