Charges have been brought against a former deputy superintendent and a jail aide from Adiala Jail for allegedly helping Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan while he was incarcerated.
To further investigate the claimed abuse of authority inside the prison, the authorities have now begun looking into the involvement of a number of other jail staff members.
According to sources, former deputy superintendent Zafar and jail assistant Nazim are two of the people detained for giving the former prime minister unapproved benefits while he was a prisoner. According to reports, the arrested former deputy superintendent lives close to Adiala Jail.
Six employees are currently the subject of an investigation into evidence provided by Muhammad Akram, a former deputy superintendent who spent fifteen years in Adiala Jail at different points in time before being released.
