Chaudhry Anwarul Haq, the prime minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), has turned the first soil for a project to build 750 permanent homes for refugees from Indian-administered Kashmir who came in 1989–1990. The stone-laying ceremony was conducted by a refugee representative.
With an estimated cost of 3,096.050 million rupees, the project should be finished in two years. Its primary goal is to give the refugees access to basic amenities.
Colonel (Retd) Waqar Ahmad Noor, Javed Iqbal Budhanvi, Raja Muhammad Siddique Khan, Chaudhry Muhammad Rashid, and Malik Zafar Iqbal were among the government ministers and officials present during the occasion.
Prime Minister Haq showed sympathy for the people of Indian-administered Kashmir during his speech and underlined the need of giving the refugees basic necessities.
