At least four people were injured Sunday as an armed suspect opened fire in front of a bar in Harlem, New York City, prompting authorities to launch an investigation, officials said.
According to an NBC New York story, the assailant began shooting the three victims when they were outside the bar around closing time.
The fourth wounded was also taken to the hospital with unknown ailments.
Officials claimed that the victims were all guys aged 21, 39, and 46. Officials stated that their condition is not critical.
Police say shots were fired around 4 a.m. at Just Lorraine’s Place 2 on Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard.
The shooter remained at large and fled on foot following the shooting, and investigators are combing the neighborhood for evidence.
Separately, authorities in Burnsville, Minnesota claimed that at least three police officers, including a paramedic, were fatally shot after receiving accusations of domestic violence.
Governor Tim Walz expressed his condolences and offered support to the victims’ families.
According to the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA), the shooter died as well, but the cause of death was not disclosed.
In a message posted on X (previously known as Twitter), the Governor stated that officials were “responding to a call of a family in danger.”
He also alleged that other authorities sustained injuries.
“We must never underestimate the bravery and sacrifices that our first responders make every day,” Walz said in a statement on X.
“Today, the families of these public officers received the call they expected but hoped would never come. My heart goes out to those sad families, and the State of Minnesota is ready to help in any way we can. “This is a terrible loss for our state.”
