RAWALPINDI: Security forces successfully stopped an attempt to cross the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in Khyber district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on Saturday, according to the military’s media wing. A Pakistan Army soldier accepted martyrdom, and four terrorists were neutralized.
According to a statement from Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the terrorists were engaged by the army after their movement was detected in the Rajgal region during the night of December 19–20.
The ISPR further reported that 22-year-old Sepoy Amir Sohail Afridi, from Khyber district, bravely fought and accepted martyrdom during the fierce firefight.
The military spokesperson also emphasized Islamabad’s repeated demands that the interim government in Kabul “fulfill its obligations and deny the use of Afghan soil by [terrorists or khwarij] for perpetrating acts of terrorism against Pakistan.”
