Frank Hester, the CEO of The Phoenix Partnership, which donated £10 million to the Conservatives last year, reportedly stated Ms Abbott, who is still suspended from the parliamentary Labour Party, “should be shot”.
In a post on news, a spokeswoman for Mr. Hester admitted to making “rude” comments about Ms. Abbott, which were first published by The Guardian, but said they had “nothing to do with her gender or color of skin.”
Labour and the Liberal Democrats have urged the Conservatives to refund the money Mr. Hester donated to the party in response to the “reprehensible” statements.
