After spending three months hidden in the privacy policy of a tax-focused think tank’s website, a complimentary bottle of wine has finally been claimed.
As a test, Tax Policy Associates included the clause in February to see if anyone would truly read the entire agreement.
The leader of the nonprofit organization, Dan Neidle, tweeted the tale on news, the former Twitter, promising a “bottle of good wine” to the first person to spot it.
It was Mr. Neidle’s idea to include the wine offer, he told the news. Mr. Neidle has previously reported on high-profile tax cases, including that of former Chancellor Nadhim Zahawi.
Following the astute finding, the company altered the small print on its website.
