The Met Department has issued a meteorological notice, warning of strong showers predicted over Sindh, including Karachi, from August 28 to 30.
Strong monsoon winds are predicted to bring torrential rains to the province, chief meteorologist Sardar Sarfraz warned. This might likely result in severe flooding and inconvenience.
The areas most likely to be affected are Thatta and Badin, where rainfall totals of between 300 and 400 mm are anticipated. Heavy precipitation is also forecast in Karachi, the largest city in Pakistan, which is predicted to receive 150 to 200 mm of rain over the course of three days.
He said that the intensity of the rains is expected to increase as the monsoon system approaches, potentially causing issues for the infrastructure.
