71 Pakistanis were evacuated by the government from Lebanon and Syria after their special Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight landed in Karachi early on Wednesday.
According to the Foreign Office, the aircraft carried sixty-seven Pakistani nationals who had been airlifted back to their country from Lebanon after arriving in Damascus by road.
According to the FO, four more Pakistanis living in Syria were also evacuated.
In a statement, the Foreign Office stated that the Pakistan Embassy in Syria and Lebanon had made plans for food, transportation, and security to guarantee a smooth evacuation through Lebanon.
Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori, Federal Minister Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, and Sindh Industries Minister Jam Ikramullah Dharejo greeted the evacuees at the airport upon their arrival.
