One of the few operational hospitals in the enclave, Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in central Gaza, saw a complete blackout that put the lives of its most fragile patients in jeopardy. The hospital had run out of gasoline to run generators, and the Israeli force was attacking neighboring regions.
“We’re making an effort to utilize what we have. But we will have to stop functioning altogether, because we don’t have any electricity,” one doctor at the hospital told.
Patients in intensive care units and preterm and newborn newborns were especially vulnerable. They were in grave danger of dying, according to a statement from Gaza’s Government Media Office.
