The parliamentary special committee’s authorized draft of the constitutional revisions has been made public.
After reaching a consensus on Friday during the committee meeting, an 11-page draft has been approved. The “26th Amendment Act 2024” is the name given to the constitutional amendment.
Article 38 (promotion of social and economic well-being of the people), Article 48 (president to act on advice, etc.), and Article 81 (expenditure charged upon Federal Consolidated Fund) of the Constitution are among the amendments and new article 9A (clean and healthy environment) that are included in the proposed constitutional draft.
The proposed amendment states that no court will be permitted to challenge the cabinet’s recommendations to the prime minister or the president.
