DUBAI: After defeating Australia by four wickets in the ICC Champions Trophy semi-final at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Indian cricket team coach Gautam Gambhir vehemently denied assertions that his team has an edge in Dubai’s playing conditions.
At the same venue on Tuesday, the 2013 champions easily defeated Australia by five wickets, making them the first side to secure a position in the final.
Speaking at a press conference, Gambhir said these charges were unfounded and unfounded.
“We would have used two spinners even if this competition had taken place in Pakistan. “There is absolutely no basis for the notion that we have an advantage in Dubai,” he stated.
