Rawalpindi: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) rally was “called off” due to violent fights between protestors and riot police near Liaquat Bagh. Following this, Ali Amin Gandapur, the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and known for his fiery speeches, returned to Peshawar.
Due to traffic closures caused by the authorities placing containers at Burhan Interchange in an effort to scuttle PTI’s protest, the convoy led by Gandapur was trapped there for several hours.
Speaking to the attendees, the KP chief executive chastised the government for denying PTI its “constitutional right” and ordered them to return to Peshawar.
He promised to return with “all resources” and expressed sorry that the demonstrators had been subjected to tear gas and rubber bullets by the police.
