Although the frontwoman has been one of the most captivating performers in rock music for over 30 years, the Edinburgh native is conscious of time passing.
“Life is so precious,” she declares while discussing her band’s most recent performance in Barcelona.
“As I age, I find that I appreciate life more and more. I know that time is of the essence, and this realization has given me the ability to embrace a sense of urgency, channel it, and apply it to my job. I’m not sure how long we can continue in this manner.
I’m the newest member of the group and in a few weeks I’ll turn 58. Thus, we are simply savoring each moment as it comes.”
That does not imply, however, that garbage will disappear into thin air just yet.
This Friday, Shirley, Butch Vig, Duke Erikson, and Steve Marker will be among the main performers at Glasgow’s event. The trio plans to release a new record the following year.
