On January 5, the 68-year-old disclosed his son’s passing in a post on the Gary Sinise Foundation website.
During the memorial, Gary Sinise stated that his son, McCanna Anthony Sinise, had joined the Gary Sinise Foundation and was a drummer in his father’s band, Lt Dan Band, until he had multiple spinal surgeries that prevented him from playing the drums.
He stated that his kid “was an exceptional drummer” along with: “Those were some great times, father and son rockin’ out together for the troops.”
The actor said that “it became more and more challenging as time went on” in his admiration of his son’s five-and-a-half-year battle against the rare cancer Chordoma.
According to him, the “one in a million” cancer starts in the spine and affects roughly 300 Americans annually.
