In an homage to the organization’s long history of working with code-breakers, the visual puzzle requires participants to recognize the letters in an image before piecing them together to uncover a secret message.
The puzzle consists of thirteen components that correspond to the letters of the alphabet.
People who “process information differently and possess strong lateral-thinking skills” are the target audience for the puzzle, according to GCHQ, which was created in collaboration with Manchester-based artist Justin Eagleton.
In addition, the firm announced that it is providing the puzzle to commemorate the debut of its LinkedIn page.
