After eight years in opposition, he surged back to power by conducting what political expert Nansata Yakubu called a “masterclass” in campaigning.
He achieved the largest margin of victory by a candidate in 24 years, defeating Vice-President Mahamudu Bawumia 56.6% to 41.6%.
