According to the Russian defense ministry, 90,000 soldiers, 400 warships, submarines, and support vessels, as well as 120 aircraft and helicopters, will participate in the week-long war exercises, which will take place in the Pacific, Arctic, Mediterranean, Caspian, and Baltic Seas.
The drills, known as “Ocean 24,” took place at the same time as meetings between the United States and the European Union in Brussels, where topics including China’s backing of Russia during the conflict in Ukraine and Indo-Pacific security were discussed.
