Despite an increase in the price of gold internationally, Pakistani gold prices saw a sharp decline on Thursday, with the pricing per tola falling by Rs2,200 to close at Rs261,500.
As per the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), there was a reduction of Rs1,886 in the cost of 10 grams of gold, making it reach Rs224,194.
However, there was a surge in the global gold market on Thursday. According to the APGJSA, the price of gold increased by $4 during the trading day to $2,516 per ounce internationally, with an extra $20 premium.
In the meantime, the price of silver in the local market held steady at Rs2,950 per tola, showing no deviation from the prior values.
