On Wednesday, there was a significant surge in the price of gold in Pakistan due to a significant jump in international rates.
24-karat gold jumped in value by Rs 2,300 per tola, to Rs 264,000 in the local market.
The price of 10-gram 24 carat gold also saw a significant increase, rising by Rs1,972 to close at Rs226,337, according to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA). The hike comes after gold prices spiked up to a high of Rs261,700 on Tuesday, when the per-tola rate climbed by Rs1,300.

Local price increases are in line with worldwide patterns. According to the foreign market, the price of an ounce of gold increased by $23 during the trading day to $2,524.
