Pakistan’s gold prices have risen by an additional Rs200 per tola, to a record high of Rs292,400.
The All Pakistan Gems and Jewelers Association (APGJA) claims that the recent spike comes after a sharp rise in the price of gold around the world.
Gold currently costs Rs292,400 per tola. Ten grams of 24-karat gold now cost Rs250,685, an increase of Rs172.
The price reached Rs292,200 at the end of last week’s trading, following a 400 rupee spike on February 1. The record high of $2800 per ounce for gold prices worldwide fueled price hikes in Pakistan.
