Friday saw yet another sharp rise in gold prices in Pakistan, pushing the metal’s price past Rs280,000 per tola. Gold’s price per ounce broke $2,700 globally as well.
The price of 24-karat gold increased by Rs3,000 per tola in the local market, reaching Rs280,900, as reported by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).
In a similar vein, the cost of ten grams of 24-karat gold increased by Rs 2,572 to Rs 240,826.

Gold prices were on the rise everywhere, with a whopping $30 increase in rates during the day. The international gold price was $2,712 per ounce, according to the APGJSA.
The trend in the silver market was similarly upward.
