Ali Amin Gandapur, the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), acknowledged that there are still “good Taliban” operating in the region. He claimed that they extort money, erect bottlenecks, and then vanish.
Gandapur, in an interview with a private television program, asserted that these militants are receiving protection and connected the latest Bannu attack to Taliban factions that had changed from being “good” to “bad.”
The chief minister criticized previous strategies, claiming they were wrong, when speaking about Pakistan’s attitude to Afghanistan.
He emphasized the importance of communication with Afghanistan, pointing out that the two countries share a 2,200-kilometer border, much of which is currently unguarded.
