ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the government met in a high-level backchannel.
Two key government figures, including a minister and an official, attended the meeting, an informed source told The News. One of the PTI’s important leaders represented the party.
According to the source, the PTI will have to decide whether it truly wants reconciliation or whether it wants to stick with the politics of agitation and confrontation in light of the meeting’s outcome on Wednesday night.
According to the source, there won’t be any results from these backchannel contacts if the PTI keeps up its policies of agitation, violence, assaulting the army and its senior leadership, and harming the economy.
