During the Model Anti-Rape Crisis Cell (ARCC) opening ceremony at the prestigious Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC), Dr. Azra stressed the facility’s vital role in offering survivors vital support.
Dr. Azra expressed her gratitude, saying, “We thank all those whose efforts enabled the launch of this model facility,” recognizing the teamwork that made the ARCC a reality.
The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the Government of Canada, Awaaz, the Sindh government, UK Aid, and Legal Aid Society collaborated to establish the ARCC at JPMC, which is ready to provide survivors of gender-based and sexual violence with comprehensive medical, legal, and social services. It is hoped that the opening of this model institution will improve survivors’ access to justice.
