The Ministry of Finance provided information indicating that Rs5,517 billion was spent on loan interest in the first nine months of the current fiscal year. The report states that in nine months, the Federal Bureau of Revenue collected Rs6,711 billion in taxes, while the National Finance Commission distributed Rs3,815 billion to the provinces. Additionally, from July to March, non-tax revenue totaling Rs. 2,416 billion was generated.
Under the fuel levy, consumers paid a record Rs719.59 billion, an increase of Rs357 billion over the previous year.
However, the government’s current spending has surpassed Rs9,201 billion, with Rs1,222 billion going toward defense, Rs454 billion going toward development initiatives, Rs473 billion going toward subsidies, and more than Rs611 billion going toward pensions.
