ISLAMABAD While the former ruling party adamantly denied any such prospect, the federal government on Monday redoubled its demand that Imran Khan, the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), issue an apology for the events of May 9, 2023.
“Apologies are insufficient… Speaking on the “Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Sath” show on Geo News, State Minister for the Interior Talal Chaudhry stated, “They [PTI] have no choice but to confess to the crime.”
His comments followed Prime Minister’s Adviser on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah’s suggestion that Imran could be freed if he apologized fully for the May 9, 2023, events that led to rioting that destroyed military sites all around the nation following his detention.
