After treasury MPs in the Punjab Assembly filed a privilege motion against Health Secretary Ali Jan, the Punjab administration put him on forced leave.
The measure was taken in response to the MPAs’ complaints about his behavior and their demands for enhanced hospital supervision throughout the province.
As a result, Nadia Saqib is now the secretary of the primary healthcare department, and Azmat Mahmood has been appointed by the government to the position of secretary of the specialized healthcare department.
According to sources, Maryam Nawaz, the chief minister, received multiple recommendations from MPAs to enhance hospital management and oversight. Additionally, they had filed complaints against Secretary Ali Jan, alleging that he had advised hospital administration to disregard their advice.
