ISLAMABAD Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi on Sunday ordered the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to begin nationwide operations against human smuggling networks in response to the deaths of Pakistani nationals who were trying to enter Europe illegally by boat.
Additionally, he emphasized that the mafias must be eliminated since they have devastated many families.
The security czar has established a committee headed by the additional secretary of the Ministry of Interior to look into the incident on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s orders. The body has five days to conduct the investigation and present its findings.
The coast guard said on Saturday that at least five migrants perished after their wooden boat overturned off the southern Greek island of Gavdos.
