Given that Eidul Fitr is approaching on either March 31 or April 1, the federal government has chosen to pay out salaries and pensions to its workers on March 27.
The Controller General of Accounts has been instructed by the Ministry of Finance to make sure that all federal employees receive their pay by the end of the month, according to a notification released on Tuesday.
In a similar vein, pensioners will receive their monthly payout on the same day.
Since banking institutions will be closed over the lengthy vacation period, the government made this move in an effort to assist workers and pensioners before Eid celebrations.
