The government has praised the PTI’s newfound commitment to negotiating with its political adversaries despite the “questionable past” amid news of meetings between the leaders of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Speaker of the National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq.
Speaking on the “Capital Talk” show on News, PM’s political affairs assistant Rana Sanaullah expressed gratitude for the PTI’s offer to negotiate, pointing out that the opposition party has previously consistently rejected efforts to do so.
“I would not spare them and I would not hold talks with the opposition,” Sanaullah recalls when Imran Khan was in power.
He claimed that during his three and a half years in office, Imran never met with the opposing benches in parliament or called Shehbaz Sharif, the head of the opposition at the time.
