CM Maryam Nawaz stated, “We need to undertake steps collectively for the permanent elimination of smog,” in her statement on the occasion. The Smog-Free Punjab Initiative would see young grads performing notable community work. Those who have finished their degrees within the last two years are eligible to apply.
The CM further mentioned that the initiative would provide a platform for community service and environmental conservation, with the interns receiving a monthly stipend of Rs 25,000.
Those who are between the ages of 18 and 25 and register for the internship program by July 20, 2024, are eligible.
When the participants have finished their internship program, they will also get a “Community Service Certificate.”
The chief minister made a plea to the populace to assist the administration in tackling the severe problem of smog by planting trees and implementing steps to reduce the amount of smoke coming from factories and cars.
She also advocated against burning crop debris and stubble and for a decrease in the amount of plastic used in daily life.
The chief minister, however, has praised the grain mills’ decision to end their walkout.
She hoped that the Punjab withholding tax would not be opposed by the Pakistan Flour Mills Association.
