According to reports, Tuesday’s incident in the general hospital in the capital Port-au-Prince resulted in the shooting deaths of two journalists and a police officer, while other people were injured.
After being taken over and demolished by gangs, the site was retaken by Haiti’s government in July.
The incident has been acknowledged by the Viv Ansanm gang coalition, which is in charge of a large portion of the city.
Online images seem to show multiple persons inside the building who are either dead or seriously injured.
When the shooting started, reporters were anticipating Health Minister Lorthe Blema’s arrival.
Online Media Collective spokesman Robest Dimanche told AFP news agency that journalists Jimmy Jean and Markenzy Nathoux were slain in the incident.
He claimed that several journalists were injured.
According to police spokesperson Lionel, an officer was also slain.
