According to police, the child is in a bad condition, and they are awaiting word on the condition of the three adults who were also hurt in the Hackney incident.
After suffering gunshot wounds, all four were sent to the hospital.
According to the Metropolitan Police, police were dispatched to the Kingsland High Street scene at approximately 9:20 p.m. on Wednesday. Specifically, officers with expertise in handling firearms were there.
Police are still looking into the details surrounding the incident, and no one has been taken into custody.
Matt Ward, the deputy assistant commissioner, stated: “We are aware that the events of tonight will shock the people of London.
Our prayers are with everyone impacted.
“We’re making quick inquiries, and we’ll provide an update as soon as we can. We ask that anyone with information get in touch with us.”
“We sent resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, advanced paramedics, incident response officers, and members of our tactical response unit,” a London Ambulance Service representative stated.
“A trauma team from London Air Ambulance was also sent; it was made up of a paramedic and a doctor in a car.
“We treated three adults and one child at the scene before taking them all to a major trauma centre.”
