Six deaths and 1358 cases total have been reported from Rawalpindi so far this season; 1169 of the cases have been successfully treated and discharged, while 181 are still receiving treatment in various facilities. Just 201 incidents have been registered in Lahore since January of this year.
The Cabinet Committee on Prevention of Dengue, Infectious Diseases and Disaster Management discussed the dengue situation, particularly in Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Faisalabad, at a meeting held at the Civil Secretariat in Lahore.
The meeting was chaired by Punjab’s Chief Secretary, Zahid Akhtar Zaman, and Minister for Specialized Healthcare, Khawaja Salman Rafique. Imran Nazir, the Minister for Primary Healthcare, joined via video conference.
