Helen Mirren has a long and successful acting career, and she is not embarrassed to confess that she has made “mistakes.”
Before Thursday night’s American Cinematheque Awards in Los Angeles, Helen admitted to News that she regretted declining “a few” roles.
“Oh, so many! A select few, not a ton, are the parts that Mirren regretted turning down. You do make mistakes, and I certainly did several that I should not have done. You definitely make mistakes.”
Mirren’s “1923” co-star Harrison Ford gave her the lifetime achievement award at the dinner.
When asked about co-star, Harrison Ford gives a non-sexual response, stating that Helen Mirren is “still gorgeous.”
Mirren noted in an interview with News that receiving this honor indicates she has been “accepted by the American film industry.”
For a very long time, I had the impossibly lofty goal of becoming a London-based little theater actress. It never occurred to me that I would be recognized and given the possibilities that I have in America,” Mirren remarked.
“Well, I was totally unprepared for it. I am extremely proud and not at all humble since I never, ever thought that I would be given this kind of respect.”
Taylor Hackford held his wife in high regard as well.
