On October 19, 19-year-old Gursimran Kaur was discovered dead at a branch in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Ms. Kaur’s mother, who also worked at the business, had attempted to locate her after failing to reach her on the phone, according to a GoFundMe effort to help her family.
It stated that her mother discovered her “charred remains” inside the oven a few hours after other employees assumed she was assisting a customer.
“Imagine the horror that her mother experienced when she opened the oven,” the Sikh society in the area remarked on the fundraising page.
Halifax Police verified the discovery of a 19-year-old.
It described the inquiry as complicated and added, “It is important to note that the investigation has not yet reached a point where the cause and manner of death have been confirmed.”
To date, the family has raised over C$192,000 (£106,000), which is significantly more than the C$50,000 goal.
