The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has stressed the significance of confirming the approval status of cellphones before to purchase in order to prevent fraud and guarantee consumer safety.
Given the increase in fraudulent activity, purchasers need to abide by some rules to prevent falling for scams.
PTA verification standards
Steer clear of offers that appear too good to be true: Avoid buying costly smartphones that seem too good to be true or that don’t have a working warranty. These transactions could frequently be a warning sign for fraud.
- Choose gadgets that are box-packed: Make sure to buy mobile devices only when they are still in their original, sealed packaging. This lowers the chance of purchasing equipment that are stolen or not compliant.
- Check the IMEI and PTA stamp: Before finishing the transaction, make sure the phone’s packaging has the PTA stamp on it.
