The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) November 24 demonstration was challenged in the high courts of Islamabad and Peshawar on Thursday, with the goal of declaring it “illegal” in light of the heightened political tensions.
Concerns of a standoff are raised as the federal government prepares for the party’s “do-or-die” demonstration, with police preparing to close Islamabad and the PTI enlisting more workers to guarantee full participation.
According to the petition filed with the Islamabad High Court (IHC), an order should be issued to put an end to the PTI’s unlawful protest, which reminded people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s “military expedition (lashkar kashi) on Islamabad and Punjab” because KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur was leading it.
